Wedding Attire Tips for Guests and Mothers of the Bride/Groom
Being a guest at a wedding always comes with the question, “what should I wear?" That is where AMW’s list of do’s and don’ts for wedding attire is here to help! We have put together a guide on how to dress in your best wedding attire as a guest as well as a member of the wedding.

What NOT to Wear
Let's start with the don’ts when it comes to wedding attire. As a guest, one of the most important things to avoid wearing is white, cream, or ivory to the wedding unless the bride has specifically asked guests too. It is also recommended to avoid wearing denim, t-shirts, and clothing with holes or distressing. These items of clothing are almost always not appropriate attire for a wedding.
Do’s for Wedding Fashion
The best way to know what to wear as a guest to the wedding is to check the invite; if it states “Black Tie” the dress code is more formal. Women’s attire for black tie is long formal gowns or fancy cocktail dresses, and men’s attire is formal tuxes or suits in a dark color. If the invitation does not state the attire, dress your best for the event! It is always better to be overdressed than underdressed!
