How To Honor Your Loved Ones On Your Wedding Day

Updated: Jun 14, 2021

Weddings are a celebration and time for coming together to celebrate the bonding of two people. We know how important it is to have your closest friends and loving families with you, but sometimes there are loved ones who are no longer with us that we wish could be there. Honoring your loved ones is a great way to feel their presence with you on your big day.

Here are some of our favorite ways to honor loved ones at weddings:

1. Save A Seat

Reserving a seat for a loved one during the ceremony can be a great way to remember them and know they are there with you on your big day. Placing a special belonging such as a photo, jewelry, or article or clothing is a wonderful way to clearly save the seat for your loved one.

2. Signature Drink/Favorite Recipe

Signature drinks are a big wedding trend that showcase the couples’ drinks of choice, but having a specialty drink of a passed loved one is a great way to honor them and incorporate a part of them into your wedding day. During cocktail hour, you can include a famous recipe or favorite dish from your loved one for your guests and you to enjoy.

3. Loved Ones Memory Table

A memorial table is a great addition to your reception space where you can place framed photographs of loved ones and even memorabilia of loved ones.

4. Pin a Memory to Your Bouquet or Boutonniere

Whether it is a photo, piece of fabric from an article of their old clothing, or even an item of jewelry, you can take your loved one with you down the aisle. This is a loving way to keep them close to you on this memorable day.

5. Grandparent Dedication Dance

Dedicating a special dance during your reception is a sweet way to dedicate time to your loved ones and their memory. Using a special song that contained sentimental meaning adds a special bond for you on your wedding day.

No matter how you decide to honor your loved ones, our team will help by doing whatever it takes to make sure you feel their presence on your big day!
