With wedding season getting into full swing, it’s time for another review of one of our favorite venues, Boone Hall! Located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Boone Hall has recently become one of the Southeast’s most desired wedding venues. Famously a filming site for a fan-favorite romance/drama, Nicholas Sparks’, “The Notebook,” and the perfect display of the beauty of traditional, Southern architecture and design, Boone Hall has established itself as a destination spot for romance.

The Avenue of Oaks
Totaling in 731 acres, Boone Hall’s landscaping includes the stunning and impressive Avenue of Oaks! A dramatic accent to the property, 88 evenly spaced oak trees line the three-quarters of a mile to the main house’s gates. The oaks have come to act as backdrops to portraits of the bride and groom, bridal party, and family, as well as to the ceremony itself. The natural beauty of this landscape is sure to be an absolute hit on your big day!
The Gates
At the end of the Avenue of Oaks, visitors enter the property of the mansion through an iron gate with a brick wall expanding across the fore-front of the property on either side. The driveway continues to lead through to the house. An absolutely stunning site for the ceremony, couples have come to recite their vows and say “I do” among the intricate iron and carefully laid bricks.
The Main House
The main house on the property was built in 1936. The large residence was constructed in the colonial revival-style at two and a half-stories and with a brick exterior and six stunning columns, is the pinnacle of early-twentieth century Southern living. Today, the house can serve as a dramatic backdrop to the ceremony and a beautiful compliment to the bride’s initial walk down the aisle.
