CEREMONY
Options for Ceremony music are endless! And you can even book live musicians. Depending on the kind of ceremony you have, recommendations for music can vary.
For a classic ceremony…
“Cannon in D, P.37” is perhaps the most classic ceremony song for every bride. Other classic options include "A Midsummer Night's Dream, Op. 61: IX. Wedding March," "Wedding March," “Ave Maria,” and “Ode to Joy.” These pieces are the perfect recipe to create the timeless feel you may be searching for.
For a twist…
Many couples are deciding to stray from the typical wedding hymns and opting for something trendy. A few recommendations include Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” Train’s “Marry Me,” and Elvis Presely’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.”
Or Live Musicians?...
Live Music adds so much to your special day. Having strings at your ceremony can be an innovative way to elevate the elegance of your ceremony. One of our favorite live music vendors is "Adore Duet."
PLAYLIST FOR COCKTAIL HOUR
Cocktail hour is one of excitement and celebration! It is important to find music that matches the vibe of your guests. We recommend mixing the genres of music in your cocktail hour playlist and being intentional with the songs you select. The music will need to balance the conversations of your guests. “For Once in My Life,” by Stevie Wonder is a great one! Followed by “Chasing Cars,” by Snow Patrol and “L-O-V-E,” by Nat King Cole and “Rhythm Of Love,” by Plain White T’s or “Better Together,” by Jack Johnson is a great example of the right way to mix your music up. Depending on your wedding style, this playlist may be a good one to carry over into dinner as well.
RECEPTION TIME
As a couple, it is important to identify what kind of music your guests would like to listen to for the rest of the night. Options generally range from a live band to a DJ and sometimes even both. Having a live band certainly takes your wedding to new heights! It also brings live entertainment to your event, which is another way for guests to feel fully immersed in your day. Bands we love include: Emerald Empire Band, @TheReggieSullivanBand, and The Charleston Wedding Band. On the other hand, a DJ ensures that your favorite version of your favorite song is present and played on your day. The right DJ is sure to bring the party! Some of our favorite DJs include: Events by Snow, Party Time DJs, @PinnacleCharleston, and Bunn DJ Company.
