A Daufuskie Island Dream: Casey & Blaine’s Haig Point Wedding Weekend

The wedding of Casey Denny and Blaine Dutchik was a day marked by elegant details and grand celebrations. From a blue and white checkered dance floor to a sparkler-lit beach exit, no moment of their day was without an abundance of love, joy, and pure emotions. An experience to never be forgotten, filled with lighthouse views, ferry rides, and a golden Low Country sunset overlooking the water at Haig Point Daufuskie Island

The wedding weekend began on Friday, with guests arriving by ferry to Daufuskie Island. At the Osprey Course, guests and members of the wedding party enjoyed a 9-hole golf tournament, showing up in Halloween costumes to celebrate the spooky holiday. Later that evening, the rehearsal dinner and welcome party were held at the Canoe Club, where family and friends dressed in garden-party attire. Guests mixed and mingled, reconnecting over cocktails and coastal views, which provided the perfect transition from a playful day into a romantic-filled wedding weekend.

On Saturday, Casey and Blaine were wed. The day started early with Casey and her bridesmaids getting their hair and makeup done by Lashes and Lace. The bride wore an elegant half-up, half-down hairstyle with loose curls to complement her strapless corset gown. The morning energy was happy, calm, and full of anticipation for the day ahead. Photographer Audrey from East End Photography captured moments from Casey and her girls wearing matching blue, green, and white floral pjs to an emotional moment where Casey’s mother, Becky zipped her into her gown.

By early afternoon, the finishing touches were complete. The Alexandra Madison Team was in full swing, perfecting every detail, and the wedding portraits began. Near the lighthouse, Casey shared her first look with her father, then followed it with her soon-to-be husband. There was not a dry eye in sight, marking what were sure to be two of the most tender moments of the day. Then, group portraits began, and Casey and Blaine were captured with their closest friends. The bridesmaids wore timeless blue floral silk gowns, while the groomsmen sported light blue suits. The florals done by Ivory and Beau cohesively matched the ensemble with the most notably being timeless white roses.

Guests were escorted by golf cart from the mansion to the ceremony site, creating a uniquely Daufuskie Island processional of its own. The ceremony began at 4:30 PM, just as the afternoon light softened and the island glowed.

As the wedding party walked out of the mansion and the lighthouse stood tall nearby, the ceremony felt timeless and personal. Reserved seating framed the front rows for the immediate family, and the couple's adorable golden retriever even made a ceremonial appearance!

As Casey and Blaine exchanged vows, the palms swayed gracefully in the background, their movement brought by a waterfront breeze that gently ruffled Casey's veil. Following the ceremony, guests traveled together to the reception beach for a cocktail hour at the tiki bar. Family and newlywed photos took place before the couple slipped away briefly for a private moment to bustle, grab a bite to eat, and take a moment to breathe before the night truly began.

Sunset arrived just before dinner, painting the sky in soft coastal hues as guests were ushered into the reception tent. Inside, the tent was decked to the 9’s with a blue-and-white checkered vinyl dance floor, breathtaking table settings featuring overflowing hydrangeas, a floral tablecloth, custom cloth napkins, and hand-painted oyster shells. String lights twinkled overhead, drawing attention to the bar area, which was customized with blue-and-white wallpaper, monogrammed frosted cups, and the bride and groom's signature drinks: a Spicy Marg and a Bourbon on Ice.

Casey and Blaine were announced simply as Mr. & Mrs. Dutchik, kicking off a delicious dinner catered by Haig Point Daufuskie Island. The seated stationed meals kept the evening flowing smoothly while Midnight City Band set the soundtrack for the night ahead.

Emotional speeches were delivered, father-daughter and mother-son dances were performed, and a quiet, intimate cake-cutting ceremony took place on the side, where Casey and Blaine cut into a beautiful three-tier white cake covered in florals, also provided by Haig Point Daufuskie Island

As the night wound down, a late-night McDonald’s snack awaited guests near the fireplace as they walked out to gather for a sparkler beach exit. Casey and Blaine made their getaway in a small white moke as cheers continued to echo into the night, wrapping up a seamless weekend filled with love, coastal charm, and everlasting memories.
